Completely my newest obsession. Watch from the start here or here or wherever else they're shown. I've watched all current 84 episodes, as well as the Q&A sessions and Lydia's videoblogs in less than a week. I need more.
What is The LBD? Basically, a modern retelling of Pride & Prejudice. Lizzie is in grad school racking up the debt, there are only three Bennet sisters and Charlotte, Bing Lee and Caroline inject some very welcome Asian-ness into the show (I'm Asian too, if you don't know why I said that) but otherwise the rest of the story is pretty true. Mrs Bennet is still frantically trying to marry off her daughters, Darcy is still as stuck up in Austen's version and Lydia takes off-the-rails into the twenty-first century.

TED: The Global Food Waste Scandal - Tristram Stuart
Love, love, LOVE this TED talk
I have a huge thing against food waste. I've got to admit that I probably did it a lot as a child when I just didn't want to eat something, but now I regularly ignore sell-by-dates, scout out the 'reduced' items in supermarkets and even find myself peeling mould off bread that is otherwise perfectly fine to eat. I don't care if this makes you cringe; I despise throwing away food.

Breaking Dawn Part Two Trailer
Here - the first trailer that comes up in the list.
Yes, I will be going to watch the last Twilight film. I couldn't not go. I first read Twilight in the summer of 2007, a few days before I was about to leave for Venice. At that time, I was still in my teen phase in terms of reading and considered myself pretty familiar with most YA authors and characters. Yet, when my friends spoke of Edward on the MCMB boards, I was utterly lost.
I'm kinda over the Twilight series now. I loved the books when I first read them, partly because it was before the series got popular (the first film was released November 2008) and I enjoyed loving something that the majority of people (especially in the UK) hadn't even heard of. I had a huge obsession with Edward and am slightly embarrassed thinking about it now, but I'm glad to say that I'm completely over my vampire/Twilight phase.
I'll still go watch the movie; it'll be kind of like an end of an era and I really hope that Hollywood doesn't produce more films like the rumour I heard the other day. Enough is enough and we really don't need any more sequels. My favourite film so far was Eclipse and while Breaking Dawn Part 1 left a little to be desired, Part 2 is where all the action takes place and looks fantastic. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson don't come across great in interviews, but they both look fantastic in the clip and I'm really looking forward to seeing Kristen being able to cast the meek and weak human Bella aside. One thing I am very glad that to see that they've done with the trailer is keep sightings of Renesmee as minimal as possible. I hope they carry this on for any subsequent trailers they release.

Britain's Got Talent, Semi-Final 1
For me, there were only three acts that stood above all the rest, and of these three, only two that I wanted to go through; the rest were mediocre.

TEDxSussex University
I've espoused my love for TED in a few posts now, and I was lucky enough to be given the chance to attend a TEDx event that was held at my university today. TEDx events are independently organised events where the 'x' can be anywhere from (and I'm just picking random places here; no idea if TEDx events have actually been held here) Sydney to Stockholm to San Francisco to Sussex.
I heard about this TEDx event through the Enterprise Office at the University, and boy am I glad I attended. A full list of speakers can be found here and their talks will be uploaded to TED.com in the coming months. The theme was 'The Hidden Wonders' and we saw a variety of speakers from across the country (and the globe) in three separate areas: Science and Technology, Global Issues and Business and People and Culture.

TED: Connected, but Alone? - Sherry Turkle
I've only seen a dozen or so TED talks, but this has to be the most powerful one that I've watched and probably one of the most powerful TED talks that I will see.

TED: Half a Million Secrets - Frank Warren
I love PostSecret. For those of you that don't know, PostSecret is a blog started by Frank Warren where people from all over the world send in their secrets on a postcard. Each Sunday, a new 'batch' of secrets are posted up and it has become my ritual to check PostSecret every Sunday morning and take some time to laugh and cry at the thoughts and feelings that people have found the courage to share with the world. Frank sums the project up pretty nicely in the first few minutes of his talk.

I'm the One That's Cool
I confess, I've never watched The Guild (I mean to) but I love Felicia Day from Buffy and she was awesome in Dr Horrible. The Guild's Do You Want To Date My Avatar is similarly as brilliant as this.

Birth of a Book
Have a look at this video - just awesome. I can't imagine how many hours it would take to print and bind a book like that. I'd love to have a go, just to try it; I think it would make me appreciate the process a whole lot more
